I have Aloha 5.3 and Ive been doing maintenance on items/categories. Now that things are straight Id like to re-process historical PMIX reports, but they are still showing old categories,etc...

any tips appreciated.

TIA

Not sure if this will work but have you tried using the "regrind sub directories" command from the utilities menu??

You will have to copy the .dbf files that you editted correctly and copy them into all the dated folders you want to regrind. Then you will need to regrind all those dates.

posk: thanks for the response. I am new to aloha (but a tech guy)- can you walk me through the steps?

thx

From the newdata folder copy the itm.dbf, cat.dbf and cit.dbf and paste these into the dated sub directories in the aloha folder. These are 20010221 etc... In each of those folders there will be a gnddbf30.xxx file. If you delete tha file the regrind should occur automatically. Rerun your p-mix report and see if that worked.

just submitted a faq for this, will see if it's written intelligibly, should be live tomorrow - but the gist is I have a script i use for these situations that copies .dbf files into years of subdirectories. problem is i wrote it for my use, so it's kind of ugly. nasty, really. if people need it, i could spruce it up a bit, make it a little less homicidal if used indesciminently, maybe comment something (no! never!) but... it's a pain to do all that :) so just holler I'll help you w/ it if I can.
