I've removed a printer fro the BOH, but it's still being assigned when the FOH terminal starts up. This creates a COM port error since another printer is assigned to the same port.
In DEBOUT File:
Mar 18, 13:54:57 [1856] Printer 25 on COM1
Mar 18, 13:54:57 [1856] Printer 201 on COM1

I've done a fresh restart of BOH and FOH and still have the problem.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

I would again check all the printers assigned to that terminal. I'm sure you still have one assigned to com1

You're right, there were two printers assigned to COM1, but BOH didn't have them both assigned to COM1. I had to change the value in the DATA\PRT.DBF file with an DBF editor. So now I have a problem where I change values in the BOH, the changes persist in the BOH, but they do not save to the DATA\*.DBF files. Is there something I have to do to save the changes to the DBF files for the FOH?

Did you refresh after making changes. Anything you do in aloha manager is changes in newdata. When you refresh newdata is copied to data and then updated to the terminals. Or maybe your in redundancy?

I think I'm showing my ignorance about Aloha Manager. What do you do to 'refresh'? What do you mean by 'in redundancy'?

I can't find a manual for Aloha Manager. That would probably help so I don't have to bother folks about this. Do you know if there's something online?

Nothing online except this forum.

In Aloha Manager under utilities, Refresh Data, this will update the terminals with any changes you make in Aloha BOH.

Any changes you make in BOH won't be intorduced to FOH until a refresh is done.

Cheers,
Coorsman

I saw that but was afraid to click, since I didn't know what it does. Thanks for your help.

Now I have another problem where one of the FOH terminals (XP) is not allowing the other PCs on the network access. This is OS related I'm sure. I'm going to create another thread.

Thanks again.
