Thanks in advance I have serial printers on my system. The kitchen printer has dropped. I switched cables and now the printer is not found. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure the port you connected the printer to in the terminal corresponds to the port that is selected in Aloha Manager under Maintenance>Hardware>Printers.

The printer dropped, as it fell on the ground or dropped as in stopped communicating? 2 very different issues

The kitchen expo printer is the problem. It just stopped working. I then purchased a new printer. NOTE this system uses the serial adapter.

If you are replacing the printer with the same model. Make sure you change the dip switch settings on the bottom of the printer sw1 sw2 to match the one it is replacing. Aloha printer settings are slightly different than what epson defaults are (if they are epson). What brand are they? Was the old one still able to print a test page or was it flashing error?

Will the old printer print a test page. Unfortunately a bunch of different issues could cause the printer to just stop working. The cat5 cable ends could need to be replaced (i see this happen alot in the kitchen by grease), or the cable could of gotten damaged somewhere. The plastic db9 to ethernet adapter or db25 to ethernet adapter pin could of gotten pop out, to the com port on the terminal controlling it could have an issue. First see if the old printer can at least print a test page. Power it off and hold down the feed button, than power it back on while continuing to hold the feed button till it prints a test page.
