I'm trying to replace our second terminal with this refurbished machine, but it keeps giving me errors when I try to run Iber or TermInst.

I know the solution is quick, and I've read most of the threads similar to my problem.

Thanks for looking.

What are your errors. This just shows it is running multiple end of days.

Errors like 0xD & 0x23 have shown up after it tries to find the Master Terminal and then File Server.

When I close that because it's not working, I use TermInst. This will give the error "Cannot find path . . . either server name is incorrect . . . BOH software is not installed"

Our MasterTerm and this Term2 are in a LAN. Do they need to be connected to the internet to work?

I've gotten around everything this POS has thrown at me thus far, but this problem I cannot bludgeon my way through.

Thanks for looking.

you have to be able to browse to the master term or BOH's C:\aloha folder + a few others on term2 before you try the terminstall on term2..im assuming you have done this though. And no you dont need internet for it to work, just the 2 computers on the same switch or router..

How do I find the Server Name that I put into the TermInst program. Default is ALOHABOH, but what if it's something different?

On the master term, I have Aloha folder shared as alohasvr I believe & the c:\ folder shared as BOOTDRV.

Pretty much the same on this 2nd Term, except the Aloha folder is called AlohaQS.

Server name will most likely be the server computer name. Check the environment variables on the server and whatever the SERVER variable is that is 100% your server name.

0xD is a duplicate name error and 0x23 is a LANA error. You probably do not have the network card set to LANA 0 and/or you are either starting iber/iberqs twice or you already have a computer on the network with the same name as the terminal you are working on.

Terminst by default looks at your choice of server name and Quickservice/Tableservice and will install depending on if it can find iber.exe or iberqs.exe in that folder. The Aloha folder name itself can be changing Aloha Path name. Example would be if your server name is ALOHABOH and you choose Tableservice, Terminst looks for \\ALOHABOH\BOOTDRV\ALOHA\BIN\IBER.EXE. If your server name is ALOHASERVER and you pick Quickservice, Terminst looks like for \\ALOHASERVER\BOOTDRV\ALOHAQS\IBERQS.EXE

If your folder name is ALOHAQS on the 2nd terminal and ALOHA on your master terminal, you probably have Aloha Tableservice at your site and this 2nd terminal was installed for Quickservice. I guess the question to ask as did this refurbished machine you bought have Aloha already installed on it because that debout file is really old. If this is correct then you need to install tableservice on this terminal and make sure your working terminal is not the same computer/terminal name is this terminal you are trying to setup.

I still don't understand how to find the server name on the BOH main terminal.

Which file can I find the SERVER variable? I see SET SERVER on the 2nd terminal in the Iber.bat file, but there is no similar file on the main terminal.

I'll get another debout file later today.

Go to a command prompt and type "SET" or right click on my computer> go to properties> Advanced> Environment Variables. This is where you can find the server variable.

So I took the hard drive out of the terminal we replaced to simplify this process.

Again, thanks for all the help.

This is the new debout that I got today.

I'm now getting errors like CTRLSRVER "Security Key Not Found" & Determining/Making File Server when I open Iber.
