We had an emergency this week, and had to put a new BOH in one of our stores. Our Reseller told us Aloha could run on windows 7, so seeing a decent deal on one, we grabbed a machine, got it over-nighted, and in the store the next day.

after 2 days, i just spent half of today wrestling with the machine to get the system back up and running. It appears the sharing in window 7 didn't like to play with the rest of the network. After a few hours I was at least able to get the system up and running with playing around with the sharing settings in 7, but I am worried that for some reason these will revert back, and I'll have to do it all over again. anyone know or think that I may have missed anything?

Under Advanced sharing settings, make sure Homegroup connections is set to "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers". Other than that, everything else is similar to XP

What makes our setup a bit more complex, everything is on a domain. I ended up added the AD groups for the terminals to give it full access to the share. I think they may have been what made it work. I'll find out tomorrow if i get a call basically saying I am back to square one again.

Have had a QS 6.4 system running on Windows 7 for several months now. Once I was final able to get around all the sharing issues its been running great. no hicups at all
