Does anyone have a general database with a complete food and liquor menu with modifiers. Otherwise blank database. No store settings or anything else setup. Just items and the like. The demo database and the ibercafe database just has too many things wrong with it to use as a building block.

We created our own basedata that all our customers build off of. First we created 1000's of PLUs that are numbered by 5's (this leaves room for growth), then the first area of Plus ex.001,000=APPs as a header then we enter the appetizers on every other plu. Then we skip a bunch of the blank plus and start sandwiches at 001500 etc. All our menu items are at the top of the list. At the 010,000 section we put every liquor and mixed drink in in alphabetical order skipping about 5 plu numbers in between so there is room for customers to add their special drinks. Then at the 020,000 point of the plu list we put modifiers. We have generated a list like the liquor list that is alphabetical and skips every 3 to 5 plus with everything in a kitchen, even oregano and paprika.

By going this route is is easy for customers to maintain, because we train them to put apps in the app section and the appropriate tax and remote printer are already assigned as with alcohol and such. Our customers almost never have to create a plu number from scratch. If you know how to do a copy range creating the blank plus goes pretty fast.

The food part is always blank but the liquor and modifiers are standard. Hope this helps get you started on the right path. It is an excellent way start a cookie cutter data base that helps with phone support with all the techs starting off the same.
