Does anyone know an admin username and password to get around this. I'm using Aloha restaurant pos and the only user that had a login and password can't remember the password.

I need to get in an reset the password and Aloha will not help because they don't like the fact that I fixed this clients problem when they Aloha provide PC crushed. I took the hard disk out and put it into another pc. I registered Windows XP for this PC and register all the Aloha stuff with Regiter_iber.bat. The program loads okay but this guy can't remember is login and password for some reason.

So if there's another way I can get in and reset that password that would be great.

This is what I found under Help/About Aloha.

Search this forum for the ALT-X back door.

Hello Coorsman,

I found the atl-x process and tried it. I hit alt-x before anything else and I get the 4 sets of numbers. I enter admin as the user and then the 4 character password derived from the last digits of the four sets of number cooresponding to the keyboard. 1=q, 2=w and so on. but I receive the error "the user could not be validated for login to the system".

Those this backdoor need to be setup by Aloha tech support in order for it to be available.

Another thought I had was maybe the user/password file is broken or something. Is there a way for me to check my Aloha files to make sure there all there. They should be there since this hard disk was just moved from one computer to another. I ran register_iber and it ran okay. But maybe there is something I missed?

Please advise and thank you in advance for your intelligence.

Julio

there is a file in the bin folder - iberexe.dll remove this file from the bin folder to allow alt-x to work.
