So I have another question, I have a epison 200 printer setup in the kitchen. I have it hooked up to one of my terms on com 3 over cat5. I setup the printer in the printer groups on the boh and have it set to the right term but when I go to the term it says error kitchen printer off line. What am I doing wrong here?

Also when I do a self test on the printer everything looks fine but one thing.
Handshaking operation: (busy condition) off line or receive buffer full

Under maintenance - hardware - printers - check that you selected "com 3" and the correct terminal. There is another polrt that looks like com in the drop down list, but isn't.

Also do you have the correct DB9 to RJ45 and RJ45 to DB25 connectors on each end?

printer should be 9600 even - 8 - xonxoff

Cheers,
Coorsman

The setup in the boh us correct and the connectors at lease I think they are the right ones. They came with the system. The one that connects to the printer it self is a standard printer connecting that only has 7pins and coverts to cat5 and the on connected to the term is a cat5 to 9pin

Also on the rj45 I made my own cable. The punch or is this on each end. Wg, g, wo, bl, wbl, O, wbr, br

This is the DB25 I'm using on the back of the printer

I think your com board on the printer might be bad. Very commpn problem. Have you tried to swap it out with any other printer that is working? The printer will do a self test if the board is bad.

It was my db25 I dent know I needed the 4 pin instead of the 7 pin so I just rewired on of the 7 pin to a 4 pin and it worked!!!! Thanks u guys!
