When I open EDC in the BOH it ussualy would say Modem: Idel.

that has disapeared and I cant run any credit card FOH.

Any Idea? I have tried chaging the modem, it works fine etc.

Thanks DTSMAN, I have done that several times. POS in ON.

Sounds like the modem is not setup in EDC or may not be setup on the system.

I would look at your edc.ini located in %iberdir%\edc. I have seen that file become corrupt and show as only 1kb and when you open it up there isn't anyinformaiotn.. If you back up your Aloha folders you may be able to replace with a working edc.ini.

Don't know what version you are on and processor but - check the edc folder and processor folder for a settling file and delete it.

Thank you all, I still cant get it going. coorsman, where do i find "check the edc folder and processor folder for a settling file and delete it".

any other help will be appriciated.

Settling file should be in the \aloha\edc\ folder under the processor name. search for it in the \aloha\edc\visanet\settling "visanet" is the dirrectory name for YOUR processor. If it's there delete the settling file.

coorsman, thanks I tried to find it but no luck. Could you please be more specific. sorry for my ignorance.

email me at kevin46@cebridge.net if you are still having problems and would like me to fix it.

When I load EDC I get an error too: "CEdcDlg::OuInitDitDialog Unable to find the EDC DCOM server. Make sure it is properly registered and licensed". Any suggestions?

Tried that hundred times - still get the error every time.

to unregister and re-register edc use the following commands:

use "c:\" if Aloha is on Drive C
use aloha if it is table service
use alohaqs if it is quick service

C:\Aloha\bin\Edcsvr.EXE /unregserver /s

C:\Aloha\bin\Edcsvr.EXE /Service /iberdir C:\Aloha

put in the server's startup username and password
usually aloha - hello or you can use local system account.

Coorsman, you are the Man. I cant believe it. its all good to go.

Thanks youuuuuuuuu.
