Were running Aloha EDC v6.4.34 for Paymentech.
Recently a $25 charge got posted and batched at $2005.
How can I refund this amount.
Each time I try I get a Result dialog box from the EDC that says... Failed Reason: Credit Amount over limit.

First I understand the reason for the warning. But in this case I need to be able to exceed the $200 refund limit.

The customer calls me each day wondering when they are going to get their refund.

I have seen and modified in the EDC.ini the line
CC_refund_limit=200 and have changed it to 2500 but still I get the error message.

What other changes do I have to make so I can refund the money to this credit card for our customer.

How can I refund an amount greater than $200 in this case $2005

Thanks for any assistance.

Did you restart the EDC service after changing that value? If it still fails after the restart, you will want to contact your processor directly for their assistance.

That sould work - the easiest way to restart edc is to reboot the server.

Or if EdcSvr is running as a service you can do the following:

1) START -> RUN -> SERVICES.MSC
2) Find EdcSvr in the list
3) Right mouse click on it and choose Restart

Done!

Thanks for all your advice which was perfectly correct.
All of you were right on the target.

I had done all the correct steps.

The support I had received directly from NCR kept telling me to reboot the terminals.

In my mind their is a big difference between rebooting terminals and rebooting the server.

Once I restarted or rebooted the EDC Service and or Server it worked properly according to my new programming.

For others that may be viewing this my only additional comment I would make is that while I was able to reprogram the system to allow for a greater refund amount. After acheiving my success, I reprogrammed the system back to its more restrictive limits. Which I can fully understand as being a safety check against someone refunding thousands either accidentally or on purpose via fraud or theft.
