Aloha DOB not updating after EOD

I am running 5.3.33. My system has started running the EOD fine and creates the files fine, but the DOB on the terminals still stays the same as the previous DOB. If I go to Aloha Manager and hit "Refresh Data" it will update the DOB on all the terminals, if I don't do this the terminal will keep the old DOB and fail on the next EOD because the directory already exists. I don't want to rely on someone remembering to hit "refresh data" everyday.

Some more information to help. I'm noticing that the Server updates the DOB in newdata\aloha.ini, but it doesn't update the data\aloha.ini file until I hit "refresh data".

When you go into reports in Aloha Mgr before you refresh, do you see the date for the past date of business? Also date stamp in your debout shows this is happening at 1:00pm on the 30th. It should be running the end of day for the 29th but your debouts show it is creating a folder for 20080930.

It is actually running at the normal time of 4:00 am. I forced a EOD in the middle of the day to test it. It has the correct date, that was just the second Eod I ran in a row to test out some settings I had changed.

The EOD completes fine, I get the correct dated folder, I get the two files to indicate it finished, and it even changes the date in NEWDATA\aloha.ini to the new DOB. Only problem is it's not updating the files in DATA with the files from NEWDATA. So all the files in NEWDATA have the new DOB, but DATA still has the prior days files. Once I hit refresh data it updates the files in DATA to be the same as NEWDATA.

What about the trans.log? Has it been deleted in data? That seems strange that only a refresh fixes the problem.

The server is running XP SP3. Is that possibly the problem? Aloha Manager crashes alot more than it used too. Now the system wasn't in use for about a year, and was reprogrammed for this restaurant this past month. I'm thinking the only difference on this system from the time it was working flawlessly last year and now is SP3 and the databases being changed to the new restaurants menus and employees. I run a verify data and everything shows up perfect.

Is it possible 5.3.33 has problems with XP SP3?

Wish I had an answer for that one...I do believe we only work with Sp2 though. Do the master terminals debouts show anything peculiar at the end of day time?

I solved the problem. I should have mentioned I was logging in with my username into the back office computer, not the main administrator account. Well last night I go to login with the Accounts I made for the 2 ownders and the main administrator account and I can't open Aloha Manager. I get the error about not having access to the data folder. It turns out the permissions on the Iberdir got messed up and only my user account had access.

So I got an EOD that went through with no errors except my tendor error above. I'll post a new topic for that. Since I'm not sure on where to find the period for that.
