Hello, we recently switched are Epson T88 to Star SP2000. They work fine except the lines on the chit wraparound the paper, the lines are too wide for the printer to print on one line.

How do you change this? I couldn't find any settings in Aloha Manager, any Aloha files, the registry, etc etc...

Help please!!!

2 options.

1) go into hardware, printers, and change the printer type to something else. the star 2000 is not an option from the list but one of those drivers may work. You may need to refresh after each change.

2) you will have to use Star OPOS drivers and set it up as an opos printer in the printer maintenance.

I dont think its a driver problem, Aloha includes SP-200 drivers and sp-2000 is compatible with that. Also I switched the dip switch to emulate an epson and that works fine other than the width.

I think its a width setting problem, the only thing that is making it wrap around is the ------- etc at the top, the date and time (which is printing too far right) and whitespace after the items and mods...

Theres GOT to be a width setting SOMEWHERE!!!

Oh well Ill try cracking open the .dbf's next time I go in, maybe this is YET ANOTHER hidden setting...

Try turning off the Epson emulation and see if it works using the SP-200 drivers.

Do you have the manual with dip switch settings? Maybe you can change the printable width or font size. You can usually see these settings by powering the printer on while holding the feed button, then releasing.

That was one of the first thing I tried the dip switch makes it print LESS width...

As a lightly veiled *bump*, is that "ask bill bradly" thing for real or just a sales pitch...

And here is YET ANOTHER Issue. Only with certain Item/Mod combination, randomly throughout the menu, doing a TO GO or DONT MAKE puts the chit printer into an infinite loop that keeps printing the chit over and over again... Does this in both Epson emulation mode as well as star mode...

I'm beginning to think that Aloha just isn't compatible with those printers even though they claim to be...

Im going to try to install OPOS...

Installed Star OPOS drivers, registered printer and it doesnt work, plus when I hit "CheckHealth" it pops up "CheckHealth Method Failure". Im pretty sure Aloha is "grabbing" the printer correctly when Iber is running check health returns with a Claim failure.

Do the dip switches need to be set a certain way for OPOS? I tried Xon and dtr but neither worked. The rest of the settings are the way I had it before (Although I turned off epson emulation mode)

I couldnt get OPOS to work so I installed the Star as a windows printer, and at least the infinite printing thing is resolved...

One of the terminals I couldnt even install a windows printer...couldnt even boot into safe mode (BSOD). Im guessing its a bad hdd so ran chkdsk...Havent yet had time to continue installing it, but swapped 2nd star with an epson...

Weird weird weird...

try aloha.ini. find postchitprint(?, just search "post"). change the line number.
