I have 6 terminals on my aloha system. On one of my terminals, I had a root element missing error. I fixed that and now about two weeks later, the same terminal cannot find file server. I have tried to reboot and can see an error message flash for a second that says something about the network adapter is corrupted or not set up properly. It always goes back to the screen that states cannot fine main fileserver. What can I do to get this up and running again?

I would try to uninstall the network adapter in device manager then reboot and let it reinstall itself. That was a problem with the old 1510 terminals. You will have to put in the old IP scheme in network settings when it reinstalls.

Tried that but still having the same problem. Also now it keeps restarting about every minute so I can't work on it.

Try holding down shift when Windows is loading to bypass the auto startup of Aloha or kill iber as soon as you can get to task manager, that way you can try and check the debout to see why it is rebooting itself.

I think you are using RAL. If you are, your password has changed. I would try removing RAL from the file server if this is the case and from the other terminals. Control Panel / Support Ready Tools. After that, make sure you have an admin user on your all terminals with the same pw as well as the file server and make sure that user has read/write access to the share.

The reason you are getting that is that the terminal can't find the File Server. If this is a one terminal then your Back of House is not running as a service, it needs to.

If this is a standard set up then there is a computer in the office and the terminal in a different area is looking for it, check your hub and cables.

Cheers!!!
