When I try to edit punches there comes an error message that the pay rate cannot be higher than 99 or 0,99 per hour. For my currency it´s normal for a server to have around 1000-2000 per hour. When I erase the pay rate I can edit and save the hours, but then the hourly sales and labor report is of course wrong. Have you had this same or similar error?

What version are you running and what currency?

Did you recently upgrade or was there some other system change?

When was the last time this worked correctly?

Version 5.007 and the currency is icelandic kr.

It has been like this since I started, a few months ago. So I don´t really know if there has meen some system change, but I´m almost sure that it wasn´t an upgrade :)

Maker sure your tenders are setup correctly:

Adding foreign tenders to the ALOHA requires two steps:

1. Create the foreign currency: Maintenance/Payments/Foreign Currencies

2.Assign the Currency to a tender: Maintenance/Payments/Tenders
Assign the foreign currency to the foreign tender under the Type subtab.

If edit punches still doesn't work after doing the above try this work around.

I have a pay rate in my Aloha for $176.00 / hr. Whenever I need to adjust this in edit punches I get the exact same message of which you're speaking. I then have to enter the rate of pay as 1/2 ($88) and double the total time worked. A bit of a pain but a not too frequent occurance to worry about.

Well, the currency is used in everything else in Aloha, is it still "foreign" currency? And if I add it to the "foreign currency" than I don´t know what the exchange rate should be (because the exchange rate is multiplied by the icelandic KR). Should I just use 1 than? When I check the type of currency in the maintainence-payments-tenders, it´s all marked as "(0) None". So the currency I´m using for the pay rate is the same as I use in payments, reports and everything, so I don´t know if it´s correct to add it as a foreign currency..

Is there any way to edit the pay-rate limit in the system?

The exact message is "Pay rate cannot be greater than 99,99 or less than 0

Go through the Aloha.ini file and search for max pay =, or something along those lines. It may not exist, but if it does that would be the place to raise the numbers if it is not hard-coded in the software.

Disman: I checked in the Aloha.ini file (I found about 8 files and searched for the word "max", and in one also the words "pay" and "rate"). I didn´t find anything there so I guess it´s hard-coded in the software.

Rosemarysbaby: I usually put the right hours (because I print those hours on the report that I use to calculate the pay for the staff), and than I just add the cost for the employee to the labor cost number to see the labor % of sales. But if you are using the labor cost numbers more than the hours, than your way is a better fix.

You're correct that there is no .ini reference. Interesting that you can give any rate to an employee thru maintenance and all calculates well, but in edit punches there's a 99.99 limit. I wonder if it's a bug issue or by design, figuring it's impossible for someone to earn over 99.99/hr. in the hospitality biz!

I guess there is a bug, maybe with this version. I think we were able to edit this before. We have another restaurant in town and they have the newer edition. They are able to edit punches and have never seen this error. I have been trying to figure out the difference in settings in this place and the other, but don´t know where to look for it :S
