I am installing an ALOHA system with a BOH server and 1 terminal purchased from a similar business that recently closed. To my knowledge all the configuration is correct regarding workgroup ibertech and server name. As well as mediasense being disabled. However, I get the Make Fileserver screen on the terminal and when I refresh data on the BOH, I get no response on the terminal. What troubleshooting steps do I need to take?

Have you looked at the FAQs aboce - I have one posted called Quick XP server and terminal setup.

Yes, I have done all of that except run the terminal install program. Also, I have no disks. Will they be needed? Should I start with a fresh install?

Need more clarificaion,

Was this a complete system before? 1 terminal and 1 file server? and was it working when you took it out?

Cheers,
Coorsman

It was originally one file server and three terminals. And it was fully operational when we removed it from the store. RDS dialed in and checked configuration, but they will not offer any install help without setting up a service contract...

No a fresh install is not necessary, Do you have one NIC card on the computer or two and did you change the IP address on the server, Usually the terminals run static IP schemes and the server has to be on the same.

There is two NIC's and the static IP of both the terminal and server is 10.10.100

Can you ping, read and write from the terminals and the server and vice versa.

Coorsman

I will not be around the server until tonight. I will try and post results. What would be the next step?

Problem solved. Thank you! It was a network issue, not an ALOHA issue. Terminal is set up and communicating with server. Is there a post somewhere that explains receipt printer setup?

Whats your question on the printers, is it programming problems or conectivity.

Cheers,
Coorsman
