Aloha 6.4.17 BOH replacement /OS upgrade 1

[e150bucket]

We are trying to upgrade our BOH to newer hardware & Windows XP. Have installed Aloha & moved old data over. All read/right permissions Appear to be set correctly. It recognizes the security keys and we're able to login into Aloha Manager. However the Terms are not coming up completely. The DEBOUT on the terms is saying:

"Limiting Binary Synch Feature is disabled since iberrq.dll and/or SyncInclusionList.cfg do not exist in file server."

The syncinclusionlist.cfg was an addition in 6.4 but i believe it is not necessary to run iber.

Check the Servers %iberdir%\data folder for an OK file.

If it is not there bring up a command prompt, navigate to %iberdir%\data and type echo > OK

It also looks like you are low on Hard Drive Space at the terminal level.

You could try manually updating all the Bin files on the terminal with the files from the server.

That worked perfectly! Seems to be working fine now. I have not tried to run a credit card yet. Does it just require a functioning modem & line?

We also have one Kitchen display that's not functioning correctly. I did not work here when this was originally set up. I was able to install the QSRAutomation software (KDS) but I have no idea how to setup the ePic device. I copied the data folder from the original BOH, But I still get this error code:

Unable to create socket port 0x8000: QSRSockOpenSocket() failed: port = 0x8000, address = LocalRDSAddress, Invalid IP Address 192.168.128.252

If it is the same modem that was being used previously and the driver is installed correctly then it should work.

There are a number of files for QSR that you may need. I am not sure which version you are running and i am only familiar with version 1 so this may not apply. Under The Program Files\QSR Automations, Inc\Connect Smart you will need

Common\Data
Kitchen\Data
Site Manager\Data

If you were using "KDS TS Connect" previously to connect via Aloha that may also need installing as well as your old Data folder from that softwares program folder.

After that you should be able to restart the Site Manger Service and see the stations that are checking in.

We have QSR in the root directory C:\ and I don't seem to have any of those folders

The QSR Automations KDS 5.1 menu(on all programs) consists of:

Alert Builder Lite
Alert Manager Lite
KDS
KDS Builder Pro
KDS Console
KDS Demo POS
KDS Validator
RDS Console
SocketMon

I don't know where to start in order to set it up.

I was able to copy the data folder from the RDS and it seemed to copy The network configuration settings over correctly. that seems to be functioning now.


If Has the correct Modem drivers are installed, Will I be able to just copy the EDC folder over to the new Aloha folder And credit cards function properly?

If you are using a serial us-robotics - external modem you won't need to install drivers. Windows XP will install it just by plugging it in to a com port. It will show up under devices - modems - check the com port it is installed on and check the com port in the EDC settings under modem.


Copying the EDC folder over to your new server will copy all settings and previous settle file. The EDCSRV must be registered correctly - check services to see if it is currently running or open the EDC processor and check if POS processing is started.
