Hi, Currently needing help fully installing 6.0.6 into a "Deli" I have some working knowledge of computers, And currently have two NCR 7454 POS Terminals, and i was just looking to create a fresh install of Aloha on them I have both HASP Licenses on hand, and am hopefully just looking for the ISO So that i can install it on the machines since they do not support CD Drives.

If anyone was also looking to help me with integrating the Menu or at least some basic knowledge on how to do so, That individual would obviously be compensated.

I do not have the CD for this Version. Yet I can help you re-install Aloha and configuring menus. They are a little different than those POS systems I usually work on, yet just an extra step or two on top.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, that would be fine, I'm Basically just wanting to start from scratch on the terminals, And would be able to compensate someone for either teaching me how to program and install them, or assisting me with it.

As i said i have the Aloha License keys, and currently they have it installed although i want to erase that install and start over so that the terminal can run just front of house operations.

Here is a Link to a tutorial I had Made. It is half way done. Yet I will try and work on the Second part. Yet with this Part 1 of 2. You should get Aloha Working. I am also going to post on how to create menu's, submenu's and Configuring basics for Aloha.

Aloha Install/Re-install

Hi, Thanks Chuckymafia, I will follow that guide, So there are two things i will need then... Do you happen to have the Install CD Or ISO For this? Currently i have version 6.0.6 and two terminal licenses for them, I also will need to get a file server up and running (from scratch) Is there anything i should be doing before this?

Yes I have the ISO. Yet it is for the Version stated in the tutorial. As far as starting from Scratch. I would assume. Fresh Windows Install and New Aloha Install. If that is the case. Make a Strong Password for Administrator and store it well. Make sure you Preconfigure the workgroup and it matches your registers. Make BACKUPS of EVERYTHING. There are files that you can keep such as the floor layout and employee information. Sales and what not. If needed

Personally I am very particular about having a back up plan. So considering how cheap ide or sata drives are these days. I keep the Original Drive and start my process on a new Drive. Yet if you do not do that. Use a USB or External drive and Keep the two most important files that I consider. The EDC.ini and the Aloha.ini. Starting from scratch tells me that you will be making new employees and a new menu and a new floor layout and everything new. So keeping the two files will serve as a reference. EDC is for Credit Cards and has all the parameters they had before.

If they got a new processor, then do not keep it. Aloha.ini has the systems configuration such as Registers and printers and store name, etc... I kept this file as a reference as I needed to see how they had the EDC folder setup. I can sit here and pin point out every detail that you need to consider, yet you will go in there remembering these things and forget. There are a lot of steps needed to be made to install Aloha Fresh.

Registers need to be re-configured so that they can communicate with the File server, the file server needs to be configured to have the terminals communicate with it properly. Meaning that whatever password you have created for the File server, the machines need to see that network drive. The File server needs to be configured under step 3 for it to connect with the terminals. Your terminals should have a user account that they use. Aloha uses that string to look for them.

There is too much to write here. So my suggestion is. Follow that tutorial and if you come across any problems. Contact me and I can guide you. I pretty much got every error know in Aloha when I did my reinstall, so I should be helpful. Secondly, I use to work for Chilli's, OTB, Maggianos, and Mac Grill's Helpdesk for Aloha.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, Is that ISO Posted anywhere?
The terminals i have came from a KFC, and that's why im not looking to save anything from them, I kept the HASP Keys for them but other than that im looking to start from scratch, I don't have a file server currently either, and was hoping to make one of the terminals front and back of house, is that possible? I was running through the setup and it said it was, I was just wondering if it would be an issue at a later point?

I always run a file server on a separate computer. Makes it easier to manage data, run reports and Configure the system. Running them on a Terminal is possible, Look at step 3. It has the option to Run both FOH and BOH. I have never done this, so I cannot comment on that. I always think that no matter what speed the terminal is. Dual core, 2 GB, etc... They are terminals and well, why not let them just be terminals.

Secondly, the system runs faster in the systems I install a BOH PC. It is up to you.
Don't let me persuade you to do anything you do not want. I am just telling you that a separate PC makes it easier for the Tech to manage and work on.

I do have the ISO posted. Just shoot me an email and I will send you the info.

I thought it would let you PM me here but it seems it doesn't. It is on the side of the tutorial.
