Allowing all users to use dialup

Hello

I have multiple dialup accounts on my PC that were set up as for "Me only" when I created them. I now need to change these dialup settings so they are for "Anyone's use" but there doesn't seem to be an option to allow it for anyone after it has been created. Does anyone know how this can be done or will I have to delete and recreate them all so I can select the "Anyone's use" using the wizard?

To save DUN settings, export these keys: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ RemoteAccess\ Profile
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ RemoteAccess\ Addresses

Select Export Registry File from the File menu, and save this branch in another file on your hard disk - this file will contain entries for all of connections, so if you have more than one connection here, you must edit the second Registry file manually with a text editor and
remove the unwanted entries.

At this point, you can merge the two registry files (using a text editor, such as Notepad, and making sure the word "REGEDIT4" or "Windows Registry Editor 5.0" appears only once as the first line in the final file).

When you're finished, you should have a single Registry file (*.REG), on which a user can simply double-click to add the connection to their system.

That is a good idea, but that will just create a new connection for each user. I need a connection for "Anyone's use" so I can use the "Log on using dial-up connection" option at the login screen.

I need to do this for many notebook PCs which is why I am looking for an easier way then deleting and then recreating them all.

BTW, I did look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess and there wasn't anything in there!

"Log on using dial-up connection" is for a Terminal Server connection. Are you sure this is what you need?

I am horribly confusing myself. You just want a RAS option on the logon screen.

If the RAS connection box does not appear during the log on, check that it was not set to disabled "1":

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon. Value Name: RasDisable
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value), Value Data: (0 = restriction disabled, 1 = restriction enabled).

No, I have the RAS option in the login box. The problem is that when you use it, the only connections available to dial are those set up for "Anyone's use". All my connections are for a specific user and so cannot be dialled before logon. I need a way to be able to change a connection from use by "Me only" to "Anyone's use" without deleting the connection and recreating it.

1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the dial-up connection.
3. Click Properties.
4. Click Options.
5. Put a check mark in one of the "Prompt for" boxes.

This stops the autoconnect option, and should let you access the dialogue box to change the setting for all users rather than Me only.

I'm sorry, I don't think you are getting what I am asking for. I do get the prompts for the phone number, username and password etc because the boxes are ticked.

The problem is Windows only allows you to dial connections set up for "anyone's use" before a user is logged on (and understandably so). I want to change a dialup connection for a specific user to allow it for anyone's use.

Once you have one of the prompts enabled, (to stop autodial), you can double-click the connectoid and modify its properties, including changing the radio button from 'Me' to 'All users of the computer.'

If you mean tick the box to "Save this username and password for the following users:", the "Anyone who uses this computer" option is greyed out if the connection was not initially set up for all users.

It just does not act that way on my computer. I will research it.
