Hi All, is there a way to configure an analog number to be able to dial out without having to dial 9 to get outside? We have an older fire panel dialer that cannot dial out directly, and it cannot be programmed any other way.

Best way to do this is with Pretranslation.
These are the instructions from GHTROUT (RIP).
You may want to check to see if it is already enabled on your switch by printing the FTR_DATA in LD 21.

Dial Out Without "9"

Making it so you don't have to dial 9 on a set - by using the pretranslation feature. Note dialing internal is a challenge when you set a phone up this way - but there are applications when it is needed. Note: for this "example", speed lists 90, 91 and 92 were created - do NOT use existing lists - make new lists.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Build three NEW 10 member speed call lists. Two are empty and the third is populated as shown in example SCNO 0092. Note my list numbers are EXAMPLE NUMBERS only.

Now you can dial a number without "9". However, you cannot dial internal extensions, since a "9" will be inserted in front of everything you dial.

Hey Stanley, thanks so much for the reply. I will it a shot. [bigsmile] My heart goes out to GHTROUT.

I can add that it is possible to dial some internal numbers, but this depends on the numbering plan and if you dial the complete number. In the UK, we would have used something like this below.

SCNO 0092 (or the list number you created for XLAT 2)
SCL

DNSZ 4
STOR 0 90
STOR 1 1
STOR 2 2
STOR 3 3
STOR 4 4
STOR 5 5
STOR 6 6
STOR 7 7
STOR 8 8
STOR 9 9

This is based on AC1 in LD 86 ESN being "9" and that in the UK, all the area codes start with a "0".

Yes. You don't need to change anything else. If you hit return on a prompt then it leaves it as is.

Thanks Stanley, I really appreciate the reply. :) so programmed everything as indicated, but I cannot get it to work for some reason. The only thing I did was aggravate people by enabling preo1 , which disabled their ability to dial 0 on a phone. LOL. Perhaps I could just use a hotline to dial 9 before the dialer begins to dial out?

Can you post the PRE printout and the corresponding SCL's? It seems like something may be wrong with the mapping for XLST 0.

Hey Stanley, I just got word that our fire panel dialer expects tone and voltage, the panel will not "blind dial" like the old hays modems used to do. uggg. I'm not sure how much further we can go now. I really appreciate your help.
