Having recently moved from Avaya to Cisco, I am looking for a way to provide my end users a way to update the media files realtime. In Avaya we provided a number to dial, 'password' through a vector, and the announcement number (so in this case it would be the prompt number). Has anyone found a way to write a CVP script that would do this and the move the update prompt realtime out to the media servers automatically?

We've done this recently using IP-IVR (CRS) to record the file. If you have IP-IVR let me know and I will post up the script. In terms of using ICM to do this you'll need to write a VXML mini-app to record and then archive the file but it is definitely possible, do you have call studio?

thanks,

Phil

Sorry to highjack this thread, but i would love to see your script PDHall if you dont mind please.

I am trying to allow end users to be able to record prompt in a fashion that will be used for interviewing people for jobs. Basically our HR department was to be able to record interviews, but possible running 2 or more at the same time.

ATM i am uses IP-IVR (CRS) with CTI route in Call Manager and a basic script that semi works. After the recording has been completed and saved in a location which is great, but if i begin another session it will over right the existing file.
I hope i have made sense, IVR not my strongest strengths.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter,
Yes what you are trying to acheive is possible, at present the script I wrote simply saves to a particular location but uses DTMF to name the file, let me play with this for a day or so and I will post up the script, essentially I'm thinking an auto-increment feature would suffice as its only the name of the file that needs to change. In terms of simultaneous recordings this will be limited by the number of IP-IVR ports you have available but it shouldn't be too hard to get this working for you. Can you post up your existing CRS script and I can look to modify that for you so you just need to copy and paste it.

cheers,

Phil

Sorry for the delay...but yes we do have Studio. I am finally going to get to CVPI class in November, but really need to get these recordings out of Unity as our Unity went down again today. The result was our callers were getting a busy signal! That was not a great option....
