Allocating Resource by the hour 1

Hello - in the resource list you can specify the MAX units available for the resource. I want to be able to schedule a machine to do a task at a specific time on a day - say from 8am to 10am - and for it to be marked as overallocated if another tasks uses that same resource in the same time slot. At the moment it only becomes over allocated once the total hours per day are used up, but it doesnt take into account the time.

Hello mjsteele,

Project should show the overallocation (resource name in red in Resource views) if you change the "look for overallocations on a" to hour by hour. Assuming you are using Project 2010, Resource Tab, Levling Group, Leveling options.
