All user accounts locked out.

Greetings to all,

We have a windows nt 4.0 domain and every few weeks all our user accounts get locked out. We could not tell what is locking that out. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Is there an expiration date on the accounts? That would be my first guess.

What password settings are you using? How often do they have to change their passwords and have they got access to do so?

Do all accounts get locked at exactly the same time?

Anything in the event logs?

All the accounts are locked at the same time, usually it happens over the weekend and on Monday we find that all the accounts are locked out.

Check your security tab in event viewer. See if you are getting anonymous logon attempts.

We had the had a few times. Someone was going down the line tryn to hack us. You might need to close some ports.
