Hi everyone,

I recently bought an MICS with DR 6.1. It's been kind of hit or miss since I've gotten it. Last time, it wasn't turning on, and I was about to give up, and ask for help. It then stopped blinking, and worked normally. It stopped working the next day (it's a testing system, that's why its going on and off), I then plugged it in the next morning, and it worked again! Now however, after two weeks of it being off, it just won't turn on (phones keep blinking, even for several hours). I've heard something about flushing the capacitors (I don't care if it destroys programming), would that fix it? Should I take out the cards? (8 port combo, line card, pri)

Thank you for reading this,

Carter

It wont boot unless you select cold start as it wants to see the same hardware in it.
See previous thread regarding PRI key code.

As for issue I wonder if its the power supply acting up, one screw to take it out and replace.

Thanks for the response! I adjusted the power supply, and the lights are still flashing on the phones... (I'm not able to grab an spare) Is the cold start this "There is one other drastic measure that will force the switch to do a cold restart, and that is to short the battery on the MICS motherboard. Simply open up the plastic case, find the battery, bridge the battery posts with a screwdriver head, plug it in, and the switch forgets its ever had any software installed." This came from
Do I need to have an upgrade kit to get it to work after, or can I just stick the software card back in.

Thanks

Yes that shorts out the capacitor to drain the memory of programming but should be used with 100 ohm resistor as the short tool.
Remove the parts first if you go that route.
Hopefully some guru's will come back and offer suggestions as to probable cause.

Re seat all cards including NVRAM and software inside of it.
If you have spare cards then try swapping them out too one by one so you will know which is the culprit.

Agreed about the power supply causing the issue. I would perform a restart on the system and
see if the KSU stops working after a while.
If it still does after the restart, then it's more than likely the power supply going flakey.
