I recently downloaded CPU Z from cnet.com. I made the mistake of being in too much of a hurry, and accepted some other applications that I did not really want. One of them was an anti-virus program called AVG. I'm not sure that it is the culprt, but now all of my folders are read-only. When I right-click on the desktop or a folder on either of my two hard drives, the option for new folder does not appear. My only option is to create a shortcut. When I view Properties on all my folders, there is a grayed out check in the checkbox. I uninstalled AVG, but the problem is still there. Now, when I save a file in an application such as MS Word, I get the message the I do not have the necessary permissions to do this. Is there anything I can do other than running System Restore to resolve this?
Thanks,
