All, I am running Backup Exec 8.6

All,
I am running Backup Exec 8.6 and have currently added a Windows 2003 server to the backup routine. I have installed OFO on this machine and now every time I try to backup I get the following...

OFO: Volume name is invalid or unavailable.
OFO: Initialization failure on \\SERVER\c$
-------------------------------------------------

I have looked at the Veritas website and updated the OFO File Option Wizard,entered the correct location (e.g. C:\Test as opposed to \\Servername\Test but I still get an issue.
I have done this on many other Windows 2000 machines with no issues. Does anyone know if there is something I need to do differently with Windows 2003??

Have you verified that the version of OFO you have is compatible with Windwos 2003?

I haven't verified that it is compatible. Where exactly do I have to look to verify that it is compatible??

just so you know, 8.6 is not supported with windows 2003 - it may work, but not supported by veritas (2 completely different things) - you also can't backup the System State on a 2003 server with 8.6

Just to let you know, when you backup a 2003 with version 9.0 revision 4454(only version supported with 2003) it will use VSS to take the snapshot for AOFO - again the AOFO option with 9.0, called VSP, will work on the drives, but not on the System state.

Veritas will only support AOFO on windows 2003 using VSS.
