Two issues after major power outage: 1. All CID buttons, master and secondaries, won't program. I've tried #319 and #318.
2. Need to reprogram a phone line back into Avaya Partner intercom system model PACS R7.0 91I.
Yeah, I know my backup was obsolete and batteries were dead. I'm taking care of that for future.
Need your advice please.

Caller ID Log Answered Calls - #317-{extension number}-1 (Assigned)
Caller ID Log Line Association - #318-{extension number}-{line number}-1 (Assigned)
Caller ID Log All Calls - #319-{extension number (usually 10)}
Call Log Button - Feature 23

Tommy,

The issue is the actual CID buttons on all phones have lost their programming as CID buttons and therefore cannot be programmed by #317, #318, or #319 from lines 10 or 11. The CID buttons, line 7, initial line programming needs to be reset up as the CID button universally on all extensions to that I can add the #317, #318, or #319 programming to the correct extensions.

Likewise, extension 18 has lost programming into the intercom system. It works as an outside line, but is not recognized by any other extension to access or transfer calls. It needs to also be reprogrammed into the Avaya system.

Thanks,

R7 should have had a NVRAM backup not dependant on the batteries if it was set to back up internal. You might want to check the #125 and see if there is anything there.

*(Disclaimer for all advise given)--'Version Dependent'

There are no CID buttons on any phones by default - you have to program them onto blank buttons on a per extension basis.

extension 18 has lost programming into the intercom system.
Physical impossibility

Default the system and program from scratch.
At Ext. 10, start with #101 to set the date, then use the "Next Procedure" button to step through the programs. When you get to the 300's (line assignment, privacy, auto VMS Cover, etc) program the common parameters on Ext. 10, then when you get to the end use #399 to copy from 10 to the rest of the extensions. It doesn't copy the buttons, you need to do them per station. Be sure your voicemail ports are programmed properly, and ONLY the VM ports are in HG 7

#125 shows the set up for a much earlier date that is wrong. I need to reprogram line #7 at the button for CID. Then, I need to program extension line #18 into the Avaya system. I do not understand why the original CID buttons seem to have lost function. Maybe I am misunderstanding what I should do.

Advice requested.

Please clarify "I need to reprogram line #7 at the button for CID" - is the button you want for CID currently occupied as L07 ? If so, use #301-{extension number}-07-2 to remove Line 7 from the extension, then the button will be blank and you can program it as needed through extension programming.

Also clarify "I need to program extension line #18 into the Avaya system" - is a phone connected to the Ext. 18 station port not working, working incorrectly, or are you referring to an auto-intercom button on another phone designed to reach Ext. 18 by pressing it?

Yes, button #7 is the button for the CIDs on all phones. Entering F00, L,L #301, 7 ( I cannot enter 7-2) I am still not able to program button 7 as active CID. Extension 14 is set to be the #319, but no calls register on CID after incoming call hang up. Entering #319 shows extension line 14 as the 'All CID' line, but it does not register anything. Extension line 18 is a phone which receives a dial tone, was connected into Avaya, but now cannot connect. Line #18 is the ninth phone that is in the intercom program, now lost. #104 shows that there are '8 lines'. Extension needs to be the ninth line in the system. The CID button 7 needs to function, and the ninth line on extensions #18 needs to be reprogrammed back into Avaya.

Please advise,

Your system has lost its programming. #104 showing that there are 8 lines means that all phones have all 8 lines assigned to the on the first 8 buttons. A line that is programmed as a line button can not be programmed as anything else, until you remove that line from that extension.

I think it's too screwed up for you to ever find the incorrect programming that has gone on, and you should default it and start over.

Please find the programming overlay for the phone, knowing the location of Next Procedure, Next Item, and Next Data is going to make your life much easier.

Once the system is defaulted, go into System Programming. Press Next Procedure, which will take you to the date. Once you set the date, press Next Procedure again, which till take you to the time. Set that, Next procedure, you're at number of outside lines. I think you're saying that you have 6 outside lines, so dial 06.

Continue using Next Procedure to step through all of the programs. When you get to one that is specific to an extension, such as Automatic Extension Privacy, press Next Item to select Ext. 10, and set it as required. DON'T set all of the extensions, just set Ext. 10. Continue with the Next Procedure until you end up at the date again.

Now, dial #399 (copy), 10 (the extension to copy from), and start dialing 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, etc until you get to the end of your extension range. This doesn't program buttons, but it copies everything that you set 10 to do to the other phones. If you have phones that don't ring, you address them one by one in Centralized Extension Programming.

Finally, if you have Voicemail, you need to know the extension ports of the Voicemail, and use #505-7 to assign them, or incoming calls will not work until you do so.

At this point, only buttons 1 through 6 will have anything on them, all of the other buttons are blank, and all of the erroneous programming that is keeping you from being successful will be gone. You can program your CID buttons, your Auto Intercom buttons, Redial, DND, etc. as needed without issue.

If you don't have a manual to reference, you can get a pdf here

Tommy,

Should I use #728 to reprogram the lines and maintain (most of) the current settings, or what is the correct way to default and reprogram the system?

Back it up to the PC card first, in case you want to go back to where you are

Default the system with #989-CLEAR

ALL of the programming will be gone when the system comes back up.
