As the title says, can you alias netowrk drives? Im just trying to access some folders that are loacated on my other computer. I mapped the drive, and just put the drive in, but apache won't just start up.

Alias /Songs/ "E:/Songs"

<Directory "E:/Songs">
Options Indexes MultiViews
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>

that's what i have, it works fine for all the other directories that are located on my own computer.

Please help. Thanks :)

Tried that didn't work :(

First of all, can you even alias a mapped network drive? I don't want to be scratching my head over something that's not possible to do.

I don't get error when I tried to do that because, Apache doesn't even start up when I put the mapped drive in.

Apache doesn't even start up when I put the mapped drive in.

If that's the case, and you're using Windows, then checking your application log for errors would be my next step.

It doesn't start up enough to get me a log error.

fishess,

After Googling this problem, I found a post that suggest that maybe it's an issue with Apache's access to the mapped drive.

It suggests "Go to the services panel for apache and check the run-as user. This user must be one that has network access."

Thanks for taking the time google this :)

But I dont' see any "run-as user" anywhere in the services for apache?

If you have it, do you see it?
