alias database 1

Hi all
I have a problem with queueed emails, when I use mailq all the email shows a line "(alias database unavailable)".
I have use the newaliases command to regenerate de aliases db's,in aliases only have postmaster: root, also when I check with
# /usr/lib/sendmail -bv postmaster
root... deliverable: mailer local, user root


with
#mailq
j1QHuJtp004852 8 Sat Feb 26 22:56 <rubella@rubella>
(alias database unavailable)
<root@rubella>
maybe someone can help me

Coonfigure the location of your aliases database in the sendmail.mc (or the sendmail.cf if you're feeling brave. Here's an example of what it looks like in the mc file
define(`ALIAS_FILE', `/etc/mail/aliases')dnl
Run the m4 preprocessor to build a new sendmail.cf
m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

After you have added your mail aliases to the aliases file you need to hash it out. Use sendmail -bi to do this.

Thanks by the answer but I'm in the same situation, not suppose if I can debug an alias convertion right, the configuration is using the aliases db?

Did you check your permissions on the aliases db ?
