Hi,

I can purchase from local distributor ( DAMOVO, KAPSCH ),
but both need for this order the training course.
Is it really one and only way to get Alex ???

I purchased ALEX without a necessary training cource so I know its not necessary to do a cource before purchasing. I think it's depending on where you buy it from.

Most distributers are affraid that you use commands that can screw up the exchange, that's why they're affraid to sell ALEX, as it contains all commands. But if they have implemented it the right way these commands should be on a higher login level. It should be possible to use the commands on the same level as the DNA platform as you can swap to the TTY field.

I also know that DAMOVO is connecting the course to the sell of ALEX, so we bought it at KPN in the Netherlands. It's an open market now a day's.

How much is it ???

Who do I need to conntact on KPN ???

I have BC9.
Does Alex BC13 contain everything usefull for BC9 ??

The cost for ALEX was ~600 Euro for the ALEX Tool with the BC11 database.

There are different databases for the different Md110 releases. I know that there are databases for BC8, BC9, BC10 and BC11. If the old databases can still be ordered and/or there is a price difference between them I don't know.

I can't find the name/number of my contact at KPN, but his mail adres was: e.p.f.rademaker@kpn.com

I mean this:
Alex is documentation. ( for admin., maintenance )
Is it true ???
Why databases on documentation ???
Documentation is not in pdf ( or doc, rtf, txt, etc. ) ???

ALEX (Active Library EXchange) is the program and the database as I call it contains the data. It gives you the same as dynatext did before, but you use Internet explorer or Netscape as browser.

So it's much user freindly than the former Dynatext. The database itself is a *.alx file. But if actualy is a zip file and if you look inside it's all *.htm, *.gif, *.jpg and so on.

The ALEX contains all commands with descriptions, parameter explanation, General information, Descriptions for use.... etc. This kind of docyumentation is not available in pdf, doc or txt file. Only general system descriptions are (216 pages document in pdf format for BC11) but this doesn't contain the commands.
