How do you get rid of this message?
It's an old Dell from an expired lease.
Thanks!

You find the place in the CMOS to override the message and reset the mousetrap.

Thanks for the reply. That's the first place I looked but couldn't find it. No biggy, I'll just close mt eyes when I boot-up.

yep in your bios you it should be were the pc health stuff is. like show cpu fan speed, power supply voltage etc.

Hi there, might need to clear the CMOS and look for the jumper on board to clear it out...

It often masquerades under the Security settings, long time since I've looked at a Dell bios setup, but have done this many times.

Not sure if you've found your way to it yet, but on the Dell I'm running, you begin tapping F2 on boot up to enter Setup. On the first page of setup, scroll down to System Security and hit Enter. Scroll to Chassis Intrusion and use the arrow keys to move left/right. Reset to Enabled. Hit Enter. Hit Esc. Select Save Changes and Exit. Hit Enter.

Similar problem with a Dell. Keep getting "fan speed out of range" warning during running after I changed dead fan with generic.

Unable to find it in the bios to change the range.

Thought it might require some setup CD to get to it.

Anyone have an idea?

Time flies when you don't know what you're doing...
