AlarmTraq versions 2

We are currently running AlarmTraq version 5.2 for alarm monitoring and need to move it to a new server. The website shows 2 versions available, v6.0 and v5.3. look here:

Does anyone know what the difference is? What is the cost to upgradeto a new version?

version 6.0 uses a SQL database and 5.3 uses an MS Access database. I just went through this last week. Take a look at

Same features in both only the SQL version allows Web administration so you don't need to open a remote desktop session to add a new site to the database.

The SQL version seems to be faster than the old version so it's worth the trouble to upgrade.

pintboy, good stuff, saved me alot of reading. Do you know what version of SQL Server is required?

We plan on using a seperate SQL 2005 server if possible, the video on the website appears to be using 2005.
