I am attempting to access the Atlantic Lan through the HiPath 4000v4 firewall configuration that is shown on the HiPath Assistant Base Administration window. I thought I read that you could access the port 1201-1204 when this was configured instead of connecting directly to the Service Port. There is so much documentation and it appears to sometimes not be consistent.
I am looking for this for 3 reasons:
1. to get CDRs on 1202
2. to get AFRs on 1201
3. to get AMO access from command line for scripting.

If there are better ways to do this I would love to know. Our vendor doesn't seem to know the best way to get the info.

Ok, overall this has been pretty simple.
1. Configure DEV2 in the selg for the BASEDEV and RESDEV. Configure DEV2 as TTY/ADS_TERMINAL2 in gezu. In feacg set immediate output and additional device callup. Start the port in sels.
2. Activate ALL for signl for DPT1.
3. The maintenance vendor provided the Unix login for the system and the command for starting the switch interface was dipas_batch.

Here's how to access ports 1201 - 1204 via Atlantic Lan:

Set your PC's NIC IP address to 192.0.2.100/255.255.255.0

Use a cross-over LAN cable to connect your NIC to either the DSCXL's "Service" or "Atlantic" RJ45 port.

Open a recent version of Comwin/Expert Access. Click the COM icon (looks like a RS-232/serial cable with connector).

In the "Directory [Entries]" window, click "New".

In the "new" window, select the "RMX/COM" tab. There is a sequence to be followed, so follow these steps closely:

In the "ID" field, type: CDR
In the "Line" field, select "LAN"
In the "Port" field, select either "1201", "1202", "1203", or "1204", depending upon which CDR output device you need to access. DEV1 = port 1201, DEV2 = port 1202, etc.

Place the mouse cursor over the "Address" field and LEFT-CLICK once. The field should auto-populate with the IP address: 192.0.2.3

Click the "Add to favorite list" checkbox. This will build an icon on the main ComWin "Connect" window toolbar.

Now click the "Description" tab, and type "CDR Output" in the "Name" field.

There should be no other entries in any other fields on any other tabs.

Click the "OK" button to complete.

Open ComWin "Connect", and click the "CDR" icon. You should connect to the port specified (1201, 1202, etc) @ 192.0.2.3 (ADP). If the port is active, you will see a banner.

There is no need to "login", as CDR records can be observed in real-time without the need to login.
