I am monitoring 133 AIX4.3 endpoints. I am finding that occasionally the endpoints no longer either has information to send or give. I stopped and started LCF, but nothing. I have resorted to reloading the endpoint to activate it again for now. They all have the same profile. Is there a way to monitor the LCF to make sure it is healthy or is it something else ?

There were issues in the past with endpoints losing their connection.
It can be many different things.
If the gateway that the endpoint is associated with goes down then the endpoint is "orphaned" for a time. It will not try to come back into the TMR until a pre-configured time (entry in last.cfg and lcf.dat files).

Quick solution to try is when your endpoint tries to startup again it will use the lcf.dat file if it is present. This is an "encrypted" form of last.cfg, so don't edit it, but if you remove it then it should fall back to the last.,cfg file which you can edit.

Let me know how this goes and what version you're on (also what version are your endpoints running) and I'll see if I can help further.

Thanks for the feedback SimonERM !

When I look at the endpoint via a web browser, it shows that the version is 50 and the Framework version is 3.62.

I do have to admit we are currently running on one gateway, but it has not got down at all for several months (the wonderful thing about AIX !)It could be orphaned, but how can I tell ? Is there a command to run to see it is no connected ?

You can see if it "is connected".
A wep <epname> status will show this, also I think wgateway describe will show all gateways and eps currently talking to them.

Try this:

wep ls (this will list ALL gateways and followed by endpoints that are subscribed to them)

wep ls -g [GatewayName] (this will list all endpoints for a specific gateway)
