AIX Newbie...How do extend rootvg lv? Is a reboot required?

I have a mirrored file system /mkcd that's 128MB that I would like to extend to be 1GB. The /mkcd lv resides in the rootvg VG. If I extend and re-mirror this logical volume is a reboot required? I am not sure to the steps?!

I've already verified that I have sufficient space on hdisk0 and hdisk1 to extend /mkcd from 128MB to 1GB.

If the LV is mirrored in a 2-disk mirrored rootvg, then just this will do:

[tt]chfs -asize=1G /mkcd[/tt]

The LVM subsystem will ensure that the underlying LV will be extended in a mirrored fashion.
No reboot or whatever. It's likely a jfs2 filesystem, so you can shrink it back to 0.5GB afterwards if you like:

[tt]chfs -asize=512M /mkcd[/tt]

thanks for the timely response. For my own edification, if in addition to extending the lvol, I was required to remove the mirroring (permanently). Would the following procedure work.

1) rmlvcopy mkcd_lv 2
2) chfs -asize=1G /mkcd

It will increase the LV up to the MAX LPs.
