One of my aix boxes is running lot of websphere applications.

Actually the is a lot of page fault and i'm sure this machine vmo parameters wasn't tuned for websphere.

Looking on the wen i found this document:

but it's refering to vmtune for aix previous versions.

Does any one of you is able to give actual parameter to set with vmo ?

Thank's in advance

vmtune -P 25 ==> maxperm%

so:
vmo -o maxperm%=25

but take care: vmo parameter maxperm% is related to parameters minperm% and maxclient%

HTH,

Thank's for your answer looking a little bit more i found this translation beetween vmtune and vmo.

After some changes in maxper% and maxclient% like said in the dodumentation, aix is still swapping a lot.

Probably something else to do, it seems to have a solution with those type of problem by activating large pages

i'have the same kind of problem ( )

playing with maxperm doest not stop paging in/out

if you find a solution i will be pleased if you communicated it ... i will do the same thing if i found a solution.

What is you oslevel ???
oslevel -r gives me 5300-05.

Marco.

Thanks for your answer, i'm in 5300-04
