AIX,hdisk defined! 1

we have two ibm r6 machine,os:aix 4.3.3 ml11,hacmp 4.4.1 ,connect one 7133 with 2 ssa card,one sun 3310 with 2 scsi card.
like this:

but sometime when the machine reboot,
hdisk7 defined, and a new hdisk8 is available!

anyone knows?

so hacmp can support this ghost disk?

wow, some method need to define to determine ghost disk...

from:hacmp administrator guide

You can add, change, and remove custom disk processing methods for a specific OEM disk
using SMIT. You can select existing custom disk methods that are supported by HACMP, or
use your own custom disk methods. Custom disk methods are defined by selecting the
appropriate line on the Cluster Custom Modification SMIT panel.

In fact HACMP is the cause of this ghost disk, and it can perfectly handle it. If you try to remove hdisk8 or to make hdisk7 available you will make some differences that HACMP cannot handle, and it will not behave normal during take overs, or it can even shutdown the node.
