Good afternoon all,

I've recently inherited an RS6000 F50 running AIX 4.3.2 through a new position at work, and looking through the config I've noticed there is no default gateway set in Smit..Communications tcp/ip etc. All routes for remote networks have default gateways set manually, which is the same, 192.168.128.11

I'd like to set a default gateway addres in Smit, but could someone please confirm if I need to reboot the server once I have added the default gateway to the server for the changed to take effect?

Many thanks in advance,

Ben

no reboot needed. Just set the default gatway using smit and it should take effect.

lpblauen, many thanks for the lightning response, much appreciated! Will set it when back at work in the morning.. [thumbsup2]

use netstat -rn to view the routing table
