I have a customer that may be ready to take the plunge into VoIP. We've signed partner agreements with AGN and I really like their service offerings, pricing and devotion to the IP Office. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of pre-sale IP Office documentation and setup information.
My customer currently has a 406v1 with a VCM 4, PRI and about 60 digital stations. They have a few remote softphone agents. At a minimum, I know I will need to install a VCM 30 with a possible upgrade to a 406v2 or even a 412.
I need some answers to the following questions...
1. Is it better to set up as H323 or SIP trunks? Does using AGN as H323 trunks require any licensing like the SIP trunk licenses?
2. Does call setup still use up 2 VCM channels?
3. If I use H323 trunks, is Direct media supported between the AGN trunk and a Avaya IP Phone on G729(a)?
Thank you everyone for your help.
