We are currently testing upgrade procedures to go from macola 7.5.103 to 7.6.100. everything seems to go fine, except for when you go see the user defined functions created previously in any of the macola databases. wether you try to run the functions, delete the functions, or create new functons it will always error out. if you take the same function and copy it to another non macola database it works fine.
has anybody else seen this problem?
does anybody have any ideas?
thanks

If you are you talking about a new Macola database, Macola does not use any SQL user defined functions, so I would not expect a new Macola database to create them.

If you are saying that the install of 7.6.200 disabled the user defined functions that you have created fo your own purposes internally, then definately report this to Macola tech support.

we have been looking into it, have contacted macola tech support already, but it appears that evrybody is stumped. best we can figure is that somehow sa no longer has all required rights to the user defined functions containers. so i agree with vbacock but what are we supposed to do about it? as far as i know sa is god and we cant really do anything. we have laready tried grant statemnts etc...
any help would be great,
thanks

actually i just figured the problem out. it seems that when we upgraded macola the upgrade scripts for some reason it decided to downgrade our databases to level 70 (sql 7.0) which of course did not support user defined functions. ends up all i had to do was change the compatibility level to 80 (sql 2000) and boom all the functions work! any ways thanks for the help and be aware of this potential problem if you try an upgrade.
