I tried to install and configure free ZA and had difficulty getting it to work correctly with ICS and subsequently uninstalled ZA. Now, while peers have access to the internet thrugh ICS they can not access shared files or printer. When a peer tries to access the "host" they receive a message "Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer". In this case the user is a member of Administrator group on both the host and peer.

The free version of ZA does not support ICS.

The easiest way to resolve this - reinstall ZA. After an extra reboot, UNcheck the box to Load At Startup (Overview -> Preferences). Reboot and you should have no ZA processes running, and no ZA icon.

Uninstall (Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs -> Uninstall). Be sure to say Yes to the security check. Reboot.

It should be fully removed at this point.

re removing zone alarm.would suggest that you use a "registry cleaning " prog to remove all za traces. most applications leave a lot of rubbish behind when they are uninstalled
