I'm running W2K with SP3 and all the fixes except SP4. Whenever I install SP4, IE6.0 takes a long time to get to some pages on the Internet. I am/have run Norton AV, Spybot and use ZoneAlarm behind a Linksys router. Whenever I unistall SP4, everything returns to normal. I can't seem to find a reference to any problems like this. Thanks.

SP4 is a dog. Run without it until M$ figures out how to make it right. Some folks have SP$ running fine. I have tried to install SP$ 3 times and ended up with a trashed system. I WILL NOT TRY AGAIN.

Humpty Dumpty was pushed!!

Glad to hear that I was not the only one to have trouble. I like you have tried it 3 times. Thanks for your input.

I did a clean install of W2K from a copy that was streamed with SP4. 2 things I have noticed:

1. When you stream SP4 the MS version of VM is removed. I had to download the Sun version

2. I have to pay a lot more visits to Task Manager to kill off a hung-up IE6-SP1

Apart from those 2 (I wonder if they are related?) , it seems to be running OK.

Cheers,
Brodie
