After hours VM message not forwarding to extension directory anymore

I am using an inherited S8500 Media Gateway and Intuity AUDIX. Recently, someone went in to change the message on our After Hours message. Before, you used to be able to dial the extension of the person you wanted to be transferred to, or hit 9 to hear a directory of our extensions. After the change, you can't do either anymore. She promises me that all she did was change the recorded message. How do i get the functionality back?
