Hi!

I have set up already many IPO and I have one silly issue I need to solve. When I set the Auto Attendant to goes directly without any ringing in the Incoming call route section like AA:AA I still getting a really short ringing in the phones before the Auto Attendant answers. Is there anyway to change that?? I already erase all the people from huntgroup and still getting the short ring.

Thanks for your help.

wait what? you have an ICR going straight to an auto attendant, and it's ringing phones? That seems...wrong. I'm not sure what the huntgroup has to do with anything.

OK, I will try to be more specific. I have installed two systems IPO 500 v2 with AVAYA 1416 phones. Both of them have between 6 and 12 phones. When I set up incoming call route>>>in the destinations tab and set up the destination like "AA:AutoAttendant" it works perfectly buuuut what is happening is that even tough is going directly to Auto attendant, the phones made a short ring each time they get some calling. One of the companies said was OK because they don't have to much calling during the day but the other one has a lot of calls during the day and it's really annoying that "short ring". They listen to that short ring each time the auto attendant pick up the call. Now that you said about the huntgroups, you are right. I'm not sending anything to the huntgroup so shouldn't even "try" to ring! but that's what is happening in both systems. Any ideas about this? I'm starting to get desperate with this

Thanks in advance.

TouchToneTommy, Yes. They have four lines and all of them has line appearance in all the phones.

What "Locale" your system is in? I have this issue also, but after playing with the "Locale" it fixed the short rings, though it is on 7.x release. It maybe different in you case.

The line appearances are the problem. Replace them with call appearances. This is not a key system. Or set the line apearances delayed...think yo u can do that.

Hi guys!

Thanks a lot for your help! this was so silly that i feel embarrassed now!. As you said all I need to do was change the line appearance in all phones to "no ring" in that way short ring dissapears but they still getting their phone calls once people are in the auto attendant. Thanks again and sorry for the stupid question!

Why have the line apperance keys at all
They are almost certainly unnecessary & could be replaced with more useful functions.

I agree with you IPGuru, but sometimes clients just ask for that...and even though you try to explain to them is not necessary they just want that in their way. Most of the time is just because they come from using another old system that lets them do that.

Then tell them that it does not work the way they want.
They can demand everything bit sometimes it is just not the best way.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I dont bother anymore. I will sell it to death, but if they still want it, I do it.

Then I sit back and enjoy telling them no when they ask for something that conflicts with it or is made unnecessary complicated for them because of that.

12 years bending over backwards for customers make you cruel like that...[bigsmile]
