First of all let me say I no very little about the AE server but it's my job to upgrade the AES to 3.1.2, the upgrade went fine but apparently I was suppose to have a new license file to go from 3.0 to 3.1.2, so needless to say it did not work after the upgrade. Now I am going through the Avaya pass around from group to group trying to find out how I order a new license file. Can someone who has been through this give me a little direction on where to go to and what is the process....Thanks

Hello,

This is quite simple. Contact the company who sold you the AES and ask for a new license. They will give you the price and you can buy it. If you do not know who sold the AES you can contact a BusinessPartner in your country or Avaya's regional offices....

Be prepared for sticker shock. The price for the licenses just went way up, think it was a 200% increase in price.

Favorite all too common vendor response: "We've never seen this issue before.

There should be no charge for the new licenses. They just need to recreate the license file in RFA and load it in. It is a process to get it sorted out, but this is a pcn with no charge.

your BP should be able to re-generate the license in RFA and that should work. There is no charge for upgrading from version 3.0 to version 3.1.2

mojoputter,

I used to work at Avaya in the Tier 3 CTI group and left a year ago. Here is what you need to do. Call 800-344-9670 and explain that you upgraded from AES 3.0 to 3.1.2. That is direct line to Tier 3 AES. The new license is free and they can based on your SID (site identification number) create you a new RFA license free of charge for each AES Server. If you don't know your SID, who ever did your integration from Avaya CSI can provide that. They can also contact CSI to find out who did your integration. There are only 4 integrators and I know them all. If you have your FL# I can find that information out for you.

I am in the process of upgrading from AES 3.1 to 3.1.2 for Barclays but fortunately that does not require new RFA.
