We want to set up a 'proof-of-concept' AES server (on a re-purposed DL360 G4)to connect to a presence server for One-X. I've downloaded the bundled-r4-2-3-33-20090731.iso file...

Few Questions:
Can I just install the .iso file?
Where would I get the license?
Is there a cost?

I'm running CM5.2 with most entitlements...

Again - newbie at this, so any guidance would be great.

Thanks-

Thanks,

You will need at some licensing for the AES. And that depends on what you are using it for. Typically, your business partner or Avaya directly will ask what you are using the AES for and use the Avaya design system to dtermine licenses and costs (if any). It is possible that some type of AES licenses were provided when you system was either upgraded or newly installed. Since the licenses are based an the MAC of the server your installing the AES on, you may have not had a license key generated at the time. Check with your BP or Avaya. Also, the software you downloaded does not include RHEL OS if you are building your own server so that will have to be addressed with the appropriate RHEL release before you can install AES. Hope this helps.

If you're running 5.2 you have the wrong version of AES. You should have a 5.2.1 or 5.2.2 load. The "bundled" version is for Avaya provided hardware only. The "software-only" version is for customer provided equipment. Yes you need a license. You can obtain the license through your Business Partner. The one-X Licensing is bundled if you purchased Communication Manager Enterprise Edition. If you are Standard Edition the one-X Licensing will need to be purchased. One-X Portal with Presence and one-X Communicator works great but it requires some very specific skills. You might want to have your Business Partner install.

Makes sense... This .iso (swonly-r5-2-2-105-20100512.iso) unfortunately doesn't launch anything. But if I search for it in PLDS it only shows this one with 5.2 entitlements,
Code:
 Entitlement Overview

APPL ENBLMNT 4.X UNIFIED DESKTOP LIC
Product ID:227932; AEC UNIFIED DESKTOP; Version:4.0; License

LAC:	LAC11484198
Status:	Available
Total qty:	4000 for a production license
Created:	Sep 4, 2009
Start date:	Nov 6, 2009
Expire date:	Does not expire

Taking your advice, I've reached out a BP. Unless there's any other insight?

Thanks,
