AE Freezes, help please!

Hello, I have a very strange problem, I just bought a PowerBook G4, and istalled After Effetcs 5.5 on it, in all my other machines the app runs fine, but on the powerbook freezes when I switch to another program or to the finder, I'm running MacOS 9.2.2. but when I run the app on Mac OS X or even in classic under OSX, the problem goes away, but the speed decreases singniffcantly, please help me with this, thanx a lot,

it could be that the effects you're using are taxing the system. It all depends on how much ram you have and how fast the system is. I've noticed that after effects has been running much faster in OSX than it did in 9.2.2, and since I loaded Jaguar it's been even faster.

I had a problem like that but with the lens flare filter. Try taking the multi-processor plug-in out of the After Effects plug-in folder. Now, all the crashes may have corruped AF, so if this does not work, do a re-install and before you launch it, take that plug-in out, restart and then try launching AF.
