Hey guys and gals, hoping you can point me in the right direction. We just installed a new CCM for a customer and wrecked out his old pbx's. I know, I am heartbroken too, my "old" nortel equipment never failed short of power failures and a customer who refused to pay for maintenance or a battery backup. My question is, my company no longer sells Nortel, so we have no need for spares. They told me to "dispose" of it. I WILL NOT THROW IT AWAY!!! I have an option 61 and 2 option 11's full of station cards and dual PRI cards and several hundred m2008's. I have looked at some of the online dealers who will buy them, but not sure which ones would be trustworthy. Anybody have any experience with one of these companies? Also, I'm in the south, so I guess somebody local would be better. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have decom more Nortel PBXs in the last year than I care to count and unless your crads are newer vintages they are worthless.
I tear everything apart and take it to the scrap yard. i used to save them but it would cost me more to store them the the money I would get.
my 2 cents take them to the closes recycler and try to get as much as you can on ebay for newer vintage cards and 3000 series phones the rest just dump. youll spend more money and time than they are worth if yo try to keep them.

That is right when they call to recycle the system ask them how much does it weigh. That is all you are going to get for it.

Alright, do any of you have an Options system small enough to fit in an 800 square foot condo, use standard power and can be upgraded to use SIP trunking and Nortel 11xx phones? BIG request I know, but I am serious.....

I have a lab at home with a BCM, E-metrotel UCx 50, and a Cisco Call Manager.

I've always wanted a Nortel PBX to learn and experiment with it....

I am in the same mind frame as GordonKapesMZ4. I was taught and "raised up" on the Nortels option 61 and 11, but have been working on Avaya's, Mitels and Toshiba's..Been trying to locate an Option 11 for personal use/test enviorment/ memories!! lol

Let me know if you might be willing to part with one...i can promise i won't sell it or destory it!

thanks

Scott

I agree, I can sign something agreeing to not sell it. These are the BEST systems ever and if I could get an Option 11 with standard power and upgrade to perhaps the first version of CS1000 MINI that supports 11xx phones and SIP trunking, I would be set. I know some early versions from 2006 or 2007 support this? Maybe that's impossible?

I don't have much experience with M2000 and M3900 sets and want to learn everything and anything about them.

gordon & saw I don't think you'll be able to upgrade unless you go to the latest rls which could cost $$$. But I do think you could find a rls 3 or 4 that has IP license on it for a good price.

I already have a Rls4 disk at my house, just need a system. lol.

Hawks, I don't have a system or disk at my place, but if you know of anything or anyone else knows of anything.

"I fell in love with the CS1000" when staying at a JW Marriott in Grand Rapids. They had the 1120s in every room, and they complimented the futuristic design of this modern Hotel that opened in 1997. My girlfriend said 'So are you going to hang out with me or stay in the room with the telephone?' LOL......

Seriously though, it would be great to have this system to learn and experiment with......

hawks when you say rls 3 or rls 4 with IP licenses, do you mean it could support 11xx phones and SIP trunking?

Thank you!

Joe

All,

I would love a CS1000 on 7.0 or 7.5. Yeah, I know, a pipe dream!

I would throw it in my house, and trunk in some cell phone lines. I don't know if you all have seen the Bluetooth to Analog interfaces that can trunk your cell phones into a switch coming over analog, but they seem pretty slick.

Gorden...even if you could find an affordable CS1000...you would be better off looking for a CS1000E with a call server and a signal server and maybe a media gateway card...
