Advanced Virus/Spyware removal guide

I work at a small local computer repair shop and i am looking for an advanced guide on dealing with all types of infections. I have been searching the internet for some time looking for somthing that i can learn from and all i have found so far are guides that just roughly say "install norton" i dont want somthing that has me using a program or at least a program that i have to pay for i am looking for somthing that can educate me to such an extent as turning me into the anti virus i dont care if it is a textbook i would just like to know that the machine is clean not just scan it with programs and have them tell me its clean and since technology changes so fast i obviosly need somthing current not an in depth guide about removing 8 year old viruses any imput is herlpfull even a direction for me to start looking because at this point i dont know were else to look

This book gives a good introduction into all types of attacks and how to deal with them.
