What is your experience with Advanced Distribution...positive, negative, etc.

I think that in order to really use Macola to it's fullest you almost have to have advanced distribution (assuming you are a manufacturing or distribution business and not service based)... Otherwise you don't have a good view into anything that is happening with your inventory. Are you using Macola now without it and looking to purchase it?

Yes, we use Macola and have purchased the AD module. Any tips for the migration? Do we migrate all parts, or just the ones we want to have bin locations on?

There is nothing to migrate. Just throw the new regist70.dat file in the macsql folder (assuming you are using Progression) and go at it.

Each item that you want binned, you will have to manually change to binned on the item location record. If there is a qty on hand, you will have to issue it down to zero, then change the item to binned, then receive it back in with the bin info.
