I'vebeen using ZA for some time with a dial up connection and alway got entries in the "firewall" log under alert and log zseen. I have just gone to Broadband / ADSL here in New Zealand and I notice that I no longer get any entries in the firewall log. There are some under programs. I reinstalled ZA and it asked me to allow programs. Do I have to configure something special. My adsl modem is connect to my 10/100 ethernet with ip adreess 10.1.1.4/255.0.0.0.
Many thanks.

Hi Den,

The most likely reason I can think of from the limited information available is the fact that ZA isn't on the "outside" anymore. I'll try to explain.

When you were on dial-up, you were directly connected to the Internet without a router or other firewall in the way. Now, however, judging from your IP# it appears you're behind a NAT (Network Address Translation) router. Unless you're forwarding any ports through it's interface, ZA is never actually exposed to the Internet. (NAT acts as a firewall of sorts in this respect, however it isn't a true hardware firewall.)

If you forward ports (or put your system as the DMZ), it's likely you'll see some action. Right now though, ZA is still working, it's just not getting anyone knocking. It's still providing outgoing potection, which is also very important.

If you'd like more info on forwarding ports and such, check out this page: (Search for your modem's make and model.) Hope that helps. :)
